Season’s Blessings

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 29, 2007

TODAY…
I climbed a tree (almost)…

I rode my bike…

Became a model for badminton…

and FITA…

met a worm…

and of course, had a great time with my cousins…

and with my beloved mamu…

Just adds to the list of the many blessings I wouldn’t be able to receive and experience had it not been for this season I’m currently in.
Yes, [...]

Stick it Out

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 28, 2007

This month’s preaching series on Discipleship ended with the message of John 15. John 15 is a chapter that I’ve become familiar with because it’s often used in discipleship and fruitfulness topics. However today, I received the Word with a positive heart because Ptr. Ariel shared a very simple message that I may have known [...]

A Walk to Remember

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 27, 2007

It was already 3:30 in the morning and I still couldn’t get myself to sleep. I was getting hungry and was craving for some hot pandesals.
My mom, being the great mom that she is, offered to accompany me if ever I wanted to go out to Julie’s bakery to satisfy the desires of my stomach. [...]

Pardon Granted to Erap

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 27, 2007

Yesterday (hours ago), Former President Estrada finally came home to his wife and family in San Juan. He was granted Executive Clemency last Thursday.
I’m not going to speculate or judge what has just happened and the motives behind such a decision. All I can say is that pardon is a hard and rare thing. [...]

In Need

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 25, 2007

You are the Creator of everything, right? Then were you also the one who put this desire in the human heart to need someone other than you? It makes us so prone to idolatry and I hate it. I hate it that I’m miserable needing another person and he can’t meet that need back. That [...]

May Liwanag ang Buhay

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 24, 2007

I woke up to a morning with shades of grey. The sun was up but it wasn’t shining in my room because it has been raining for the past few days. Mornings this week have been chilly and grey. But the reason why I woke up in quite a dark room was because we had [...]

Love.

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 24, 2007

LOVE. Wow, I’m actually going to write about it now huh?
You can’t choose the time, you can’t say, “Stop, come back when I’m all good or when I’m not hurting because I’m actually thinking of you.”
No matter how happy or sulky you’re feeling, when that person comes knocking, why can’t we just say no? [...]

Passing this Sunday’s Test

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 21, 2007

Today, my motives in attending the service have been put to the test.
To be blunt, the music team was…well, not the usual excellent, spirit-filled, enthusiastic, awesome team that I was accustomed to. But I guess that’s the true test there. All these years, have I really worshipped God or have I been simply singing songs [...]

Taking Time to Embrace the Wind

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 20, 2007

Today was pretty much an ordinary day. Nothing big, brilliant or significant happened. Well, that is if we’ll put it according to the world’s standards. However, today was pretty much like what people advise us “to take time to smell the flowers”. That’s what I did today. I took time (I had all the time [...]

A Word for the Insecure

Posted by: fcbaula on: October 19, 2007

He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not. — Isaiah 53: 2,3
And [...]
